It’s a sweaty tale of gas station lust in the middle of a hot desert. These were high-budget videos, cinematic in quality, with tight story telling with dashes of mysticism and humor. The first video in the trilogy, Gimme All Your Lovin’, establishes the basic pattern. Her transformation is rife with lesbian overtones and straight-porn “girl-on-girl” insinuations, adding a queer touch to the otherwise strictly heterosexist (and generally sexist) worldview of ZZ Top videos. In Legs, however, they abduct a mousy, shy young woman and transform her into a sex goddess so she can win the man of her heart. Their trilogy of videos from the “Eliminator” album featured three stereotypically “hot babes” who drove around the vintage red car depicted on the album’s cover committing various kinds of sexual mayhem–abducting young men and transforming them into sex slaves or super studs, for example. ZZ Top made gold-standard hetero-porn-fantasy music videos.
